Wednesday Word: "How Are You Feeding Yourself Spiritually?"

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, In : Wednesday Word
This might seem like a simple question but I've found it's the simple questions that often have the biggest impact. Ask yourself this question today, "What am I doing right now to feed my spirit?"  Remember, what we feed grows and what we starve dies. Choose today to starve out sin and feed God's promises in our lives.

God bless!

Wednesday Word: "Follow Christ With Your Doubts"

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, In : Wednesday Word
We often think we must have all our questions answered before we can follow Christ. What you find in the New Testament is most people had no idea where Christ was taking them but they still chose to follow. This is what a walk of faith is. It's following Christ even though you have doubts.
God bless!

Wednesday Word: God Knows, Shows, & Grows Our Faith

Posted by Matt McCoy on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, In : Wednesday Word
Often the times we feel the most distant from God are the times he wants us to call upon him the most. Satan will do his part to cloud our perspective. No matter what, we must always keep the big picture in mind and know that God Knows us! John 15:15 tells us we can call God a friend! Let that one sink in! He's not only a friend. He is also our all loving heavenly Father. Surrender to him today and let your life be lived to the fullest. God bless!

Wednesday Word: "Pray Forward"

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, In : Wednesday Word
In this video I go over a struggle I often have of simply praying for forgiveness of sins and past wrongdoings instead of praying for God's guidance and direction on my life. I hope this video can challenge you to live a forward thinking life that is full of love, joy, hope and a future. God bless you!

Fun Maternity Pics

Posted by Matt McCoy on Sunday, October 19, 2014, In : Family Memories
My wife and I had a lot of fun this past weekend taking some maternity pics at a local historic mill. We are on a tighter budget with the little man coming soon so we took the pics on a timer with our Canon camera. (She laughed because she's 9 months pregnant and I'm the one just sitting! haha)

Taryn and I always have such a great time laughing and spending time together. I'm so blessed to have a great marriage. I can't wait to be a father too. Praise God today for the blessings in your life. ...

Is Your Life Complete?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Friday, August 15, 2014, In : Daily Blog

A question to ask yourself today, “Am I complete in Christ?”  People ask me all the time how I’m so happy all the time. They ask me how I have such a great marriage. They want to know why I can get along with literally anyone. The answer is simple. I am 100% complete in Christ. Everything, and I mean everything, I’ll ever need is found in Jesus Christ. The world can’t tell you that. It doesn’t sell books, it doesn’t make the movies, it doesn’t sound romantic. I was complete be...

How Do You View Yourself?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Thursday, July 3, 2014, In : Daily Blog
This question might seem easy to answer at first glance. Once your really dive into this question it forces you to see things at a deeper level. Check out this video as I go over looking at ourselves closer in order to treat others better and have a different perspective of our Heavenly Father. God bless!

Did Jesus Really Claim to be God?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, In : Daily Blog
I hear this question asked often. Many people have said that Jesus only claims to be God in the book of John. They say in Matthew, Mark and Luke he simply is considered a prophet. This couldn't be further from the truth. Check out my pastor's blog post about this topic so if you ever hear this question proposed to an audience, you can easily defend who Christ really was. (Even though he in no way needs defended because He's the Creator of us all!)

Great Speakers Make Us Better

Posted by Matt McCoy on Thursday, April 24, 2014, In : Daily Blog
One of the things I highly recommend is to find great speakers to motivate, encourage and challenge you. People like Jim Rohn, Zig Zigler, and Les Brown to name a few have had a huge impact on my attitude and my professional and personal life. Here's a great seminar by Les Brown as an example.

Can hate mail be a good thing?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, In : Daily Blog

I've told my wife often that the biggest scare I have with my online ministry is getting into a habit of just witnessing and nurturing the Christ followers. Don't get me wrong, my personality is to encourage and there is nothing I love more than to lift up and brighten someone's day. Having that been said, I want to always be aware of the lost and dying world out there and I never want to be so inner circle focused that I lose site of my task to daily win others to Christ and his love for the...

Using Downtime Wisely

Posted by Matt McCoy on Thursday, April 3, 2014, In : Daily Blog
Some of the best advice I can give is learn to use downtime to grow as an individual. Not only can you use downtime to grow spiritually but intellectually as well. I have made a habit to keep a notebook/journal with me in my car so times like yesterday when I waited 2 hours for an oil change, I can prepare and grow.

The Bible says we are to number our days and count every moment. We need to constantly be working to make a better YOU.  A more attractive you is better for those around you and b...

Does God Want You Happy?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, In : Daily Blog

The quick answer to this question is a simple Yes. The problem comes when the wrong things make us happy. We live in a society that places such a high value on wealth, fame, status, weather, health, entertainment, etc. This is NOT the way God designed us. We have let the distractions of this world take over in our lives and now we ultimately treasure the wrongs things.

Do you know you have EVERYTHING you need in Christ? Think about that for a minute. We don't have a lot in Christ, we don't jus...

Seek First...

Posted by Matt McCoy on Tuesday, March 18, 2014, In : Daily Blog

Over the past few weeks I have had the verse from Matthew 6 stuck in my head. "Seek First the Kingdom of Heaven"

Seek means, to go in search or quest of....to try to find or discover.

This is what God wants for us to do with our lives. Simply, SEEK him.

The next part of the verse uses the word "first." God doesn't want our leftovers. As creator of the world, he gave us so many wonderful things here on Earth. Beautiful Nature Scenes, attractive people and friendships, a mind that is able to obta...

We're ALL called to Fish!

Posted by Matt McCoy on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, In : Daily Blog
Growing up I often heard people make the statement of "going into full-time ministry." Don't get me wrong, I do think some people are called to be full-time missionaries in other countries and some are called to be full-time pastors, etc. The problem with wording things in this way implies that other followers of Christ are simply getting a box checked to get into Heaven. As you know, this is not at all what God wants for our lives. When God saves us, he calls us all to fish.

What do I mean b...

What's in a Name?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, In : Daily Blog
As the song "Your Name" says.

"Your name, is a strong and mighty tower.
Your name, is a shelter like no other,
Your name, let the nations sing it louder,
cause nothing has the power to save but your name!"

Praise the Lord that we serve a God who sent his only son to bear the sin of the world, on a cross, that we can be free from Satan's power of us. We can now worship him forever and have a blessed and joy-filled life! Think about the sacrifice of the cross today and pledge to worship God with ev...

What's Your Vision?

Posted by Matt McCoy on Monday, March 10, 2014, In : Daily Blog
In Proverbs 29:18 Solomon tells us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish"

Our pastor spoke on this topic in church and it was a great wake up call for me.

What is my vision? What do I want to see happen in my life? A better question, "What does God want to see happen with my life?"

I want to challenge you today to pray and ask God to give you a vision. Ask him to help show you the areas of your life that need his hand. Where can you serve today in the church? What are areas outside of t...

Draw Nigh to God...

Posted by Matt McCoy on Saturday, March 8, 2014, In : Daily Blog
This morning I woke up and immediately had this simple but very true verse on my mind.

Draw nigh unto God and he will draw nigh unto thee. (James 4:8 )

What does this mean? God is waiting for us to want to know him more. He's not pushy, he's not going to throw himself on us. He wants to help guide and speak to people who want to know him more.

Whatever you're going through today, ask yourself, "Am I drawing nigh unto God?"

If you want to get a closer walk with the Lord, draw close to him. "Abide...

Rejoice in the answer NO!

Posted by Matt McCoy on Thursday, March 6, 2014, In : Daily Blog
Often we feel like God didn't answer our prayer if the answer was not the "yes" we anticipated or wanted. I have found I can pray so hard for things and God will tell me "NO." We must as Christians realize God works his plan on his watch, not ours. I'm praying I can learn to better accept God's answer to my prayer...even if it's not the one I want. Many answers we didn't like at first turn out much better later on. Keep the faith!

Project 14 Global Missions Update

Posted by Matt McCoy on Monday, January 27, 2014, In : Mission Work
Many people ask me about Project 14 Global Missions and what it is. P14GM is a nonprofit organization started by my Father, Ken McCoy, in order to train nationals to plant churches within their own countries. I, Matt McCoy, am 1 of 6 board members making the decisions for this organization. We want to develop a "better/more efficient" way of doing mission work. After hearing from hundreds of churches around the country many pastors feel mission work over seas lacks accountability and is often...
